Kenneth L. Sabol, age 90 of Coal City and formerly Chicago, passed away Monday morning June 27, 2011 at Heritage Manor in Dwight.

Born December 7, 1920 in Braceville, Ken was a son of the late Stephen and Mary Irene Papach-Sabol. He was a graduate of Gardner-South Wilmington High School and a World War II Veteran, who proudly served with the United States Army. Ken worked for Alden's until his retirement, and was an active member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City. He was a faithful usher at Assumption, member of the choir and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. Ken was a former board member of Mount Olivet Cemetery in Braidwood and can be remembered for his love of traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Ken is survived by numerous cousins and friends, and preceded in death by his parents, brother Andrew Sabol and sister Irene Sabol.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 29, 2011 from 9:00AM until 10:00AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow at 10:30AM in Assumption Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street in Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Robert Noesen officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Braidwood.
