Doris Jean Clary, 83, of Muncie, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at The Woodlands Nursing Home following an extended illness from Alzheimer’s.
Doris was born July 29, 1932 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Henry Verlin Said and Dorothy Jenkinson. She graduated from Muncie Central High School. Doris worked as a bookkeeper for MAB Paint for 17 years before her retirement in 1994. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was very active in her church and was a member of the Women’s Association. Doris enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, reading, baking, and fishing. She especially enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Doris is survived by two sons, Michael Clary (wife Connie) of Muncie and Jeffery Clary (wife Kathy) of Muncie; six grandchildren, Chasity Holt of Greenfield, Joshua Clary of Muncie, Paige Waters of Eaton, Molly Roberts of Clearwater, FL, Stephanie Borba of Oldsmar, FL, and James Clary of Hampton, VA; six siblings, Peggy Nichols, Marsha Pugsley, JoAnn Atkins, Vickie Snyder, Becky Shafer, and Dwight Said; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen Clary; step-mother, Helen Said; son, James Williams; sister, Donna Baltimore; and a great-grandson, Connor Holt.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 22, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street in Muncie, IN. Father Dudzinski will officiate.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, April, 21, 2016 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3 in Muncie, IN.
