Adaline Said was born in Jackson Co., Iowa, November 20, 1846, and died at her home in Correctionville March 20, 1918, at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 10 days. She was married September 17, 1863, to Thomas Edwards of Jackson County, a veteran of the Civil War, who preceded her in death eight years ago. They moved to Woodbury County in 1870. Mrs. Edwards moved from her farm to town about a year ago. The deceased had been an invalid for almost eight years. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church. She leaves two adopted children, Mrs. Mary Peterson and Elias Edwards, both of Correctionville, three sisters: Mrs. Mary Gideon of Hilyard, Washington; Mrs. Harriett Edwards of Bonner's Ferry, Idaho; and Mrs. Eli Edwards of Correctionville, and a number of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Free Methodist Church on Monday afternoon this week, conducted by Rev. Bertha Brown. She was buried in the Correctionville Cemetery.
