Mr. Eugene Sanders, 90, formerly of Moline, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2003, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley, Ill., following an extended illness.
Private funeral services will be today in the Runge Mortuary. Visitation is 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
He was born March 28, 1913, in Fargo, North Dakota, the son of Leon and Clara (Broessells) Sanders. He was united in marriage to Opal Butler in 1948 in Fresno, Calif. She preceded him in death on November 5, 1994.
Eugene enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Survivors include three daughters and son-in-law, Dorothy Newman, Karen and Craig Sambdman, and Patricia Riojas; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Vickie Sanders; 11 grandchildren, Tony Huffman, Eric and Keith Newman, Todd and Cory Sambdman, Shon and Kevin Sanders, and Mike, Tim, and Heather Harris and Jeff Bolton; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
