Betty E. Beasley, 76, Kokomo, died at 5:05 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Kindred Healthcare in Kokomo. She was born Jan. 13, 1936, in Kokomo, the daughter of Charles Emanuel and Sylvia Viola (Weaver) Sanders.

She worked at Delco Electronics and First National Bank of Logansport Galveston Branch, and was a foster mother for 60 children and was awarded Indiana Mother of the Year in 1980. She read the obituaries in the Kokomo Tribune for sight impaired. She attended Mt. Zion Free Methodist Church and Gospel Light Mission.

Surviving are a son, Romero Anton MontAlban-Anderssen and spouse Marco Airaghi, Italy; a daughter, Lisa and husband Romiro Cortez, Kokomo; son, Roger W. and wife Valerie Beasley, Kokomo; three grandchildren, Nathan Thornton, Nicolas Cortez and Austin Cortez; and sisters, Martha Shanks, Maryland, Carolyn Sue Gibson, Kokomo; Edith Novinger, Phyllis Langley and Margaret Necessary, all of Tennessee; and caregiver, Jeffrey Kocher, Kokomo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; two sisters; and a son, Jimmy Lee Beasley Jr.

Services are 3 p.m. Monday at Murray Weaver Funeral Home, U.S. 35 South in Galveston. The Rev. Mark Engle will officiate. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery.
