ETHEL SAWYER TAKEN BY DEATH
Following a long illness, Mrs. Ethel Katherine Sawyer, Reno nurse, died yesterday at her home at 229 Crampton Street.
A native of Virginia City, aged 49 years, Mrs. Sawyer had spent her lifetime in this state. She attended St. Mary's Nursing School and following graduation, served as a nurse for many years. She was married to Frank Sawyer, Reno electrician.
Surviving, besides her husband, are a daughter, Frances Katherine Sawyer of Reno, a brother, William W. Staricha of Gardnerville, two nephews, Peter and William Staricha of Gardnerville, and a niece, Sharon Nelson of Tonopah. She was active in the Unity Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the O'Brien-Rogers Chapel, the Rev. Robert W. Caswell, clergyman. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
