Mrs. Darling was born in Franklin, June 27,1948, a daughter of James O. and Lillian Marie Osten Scannell. She married Daniel Bigley. She subsequently married Richard P. Darling, Dec. 20, 1980. He survives.
She was a graduate of Franklin High School. She had been employed as an aide by United Cerebral Palsy. She previously was employed in the housekeeping department at Crawford County Home and Hospital, Saegertown; and in child care at Polk Center. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Darling is survived by one daughter, Stacy M. Bigley, at home; three stepsons, Jeffrey Perry Darling of Meadville and Todd Alan Darling and Brian Keith Darling, both of Cochranton; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James (Lillian) Scannell of Conneaut Lake, RD 3; one sister, Pamela Jo Scannell of Conneaut Lake; two brothers, the Rev. Rodney E. Scannell of Hartstown and James M. Scannell of Saegertown; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home Inc. in Meadville and attend the funeral service there Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Charles Henderson, pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Meadville, officiating. Interment will be at Greendale Cemetery.
