Leon E. Schaeffer, 66, of New Ringgold R.1, died Friday in the Veteran's Administration Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. He was the husband of Violet M. (Everitt) Schaeffer.
He worked in the rolling mill at Bethlehem Steel Corp., Bethlehem, for a short time.
Born in West Penn Township, he was a son of Mrs. Emma M. (Blessing) Schaeffer of New Ringgold R.2, and the late Earl Schaeffer.
He was a member of the Lutheran Congregation of Zion's Union Stone Church, New Ringgold R.2.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving with his widow and mother are two sisters, Mrs. Edna Zimmerman of Kempton, and Marion, wife of Gladwyn Smith of Allentown; three brothers, Jeremiah of Allentown, and Norman and Carl, both of New Ringgold R.2.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Snyders Route 309. Calling hours will be 7-8:30 p.m. Monday.
