James H. Scherf of Washington Ave. in Cedarburg, Passed away peacefully at Horizon Hospice on April 5, 2012 at the young age of 68.

Jim was born in Port Washington, WI on October 7, 1943 the son of the late Frederick and Arline (nee Koehler) Lubner. Jim was a Cedarburg High School Graduate, class of 1961 and then attended Oshkosh University.

Jim served his country during 1967 – 1969 in the United States Army and is a member of the Cedarburg Peter Wollner American Legion Post #288.

Jim worked at Doerr Electric in shipping/receiving for 23 years and then was a production supervisor for 21 years at Karak Corporation in Cedarburg.

Jim Loved Baseball. He played for the Cedarburg Mercs Land O Lakes baseball team; was a little league coach for many years; umpired for over 30 years for WIAA, Girls High School Leagues, softball leagues and the Land O Lakes league.

Jim is survived by his fiance of 22 years Patricia A. Buhrow; children: Kristen Scherf and Daniel Scherf both of Arizona; Step-daughter Christina (Dave) Balister of Port Washington and Marybeth Buhrow of Grafton; grandchildren: Korbin Scherf, Kailey Scherf and Alex Balister; sister: Donna Hertzberg of Hawaii; step-father Alfred "Buddy" Lubner of Cedarburg; Step-brother Thomas (Kathy) Lubner of Grafton and step-sister Kathy (Troy Stuart) Lubner of Waubeka.

A special thank you to my step-daughters: Christina and Marybeth who helped me so much during my time of illness. I would have never made it thru all my treatments without you.

A memorial service will be held at Mueller Funeral Home in Cedarburg on Sunday, April 15 – 4:00 PM. Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:45 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to First Immanuel Lutheran Church appreciated.
