Mrs. Mary Ettelbrick, 69, of 1529 E. Edwards St., a lifelong resident of Springfield, died at 7:30 a.m., Nov. 23, 1950, in St. John's hospital.
She was the wife of Henry Ettelbrick, proprietor of a shoe repair shop at 404 E. Monroe St.
She was born in Springfield, the daughter of George and Josephine Byers [sic?] Scherf, and was married to Mr. Ettelbrick in 1903 at Sacred Heart church by Rev. Carl Krekenberg
Mrs. Ettelbrick had been ill for several months.
Mrs. Ettelbrick was a member of Sacred Heart church, the church Altar and Rosary society, Third Order of St. Francis, Western Catholic union, branch 218, and Ladies of Charity.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sister Mary Theresa, O.S.F., of Chicago; and Miss Rosemary Ettelbrick, at home; one son, Charles; one grandson, Stephen; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Nolan; and one brother, Joseph Scherf, all of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Remains were taken to the Staab funeral home.
Solemn requiem high mass was held in Sacred Heart church with Rev. Albert Ettelbrick, of Decatur, a nephew of the deceased, as celebrant.
Burial was in Calvary cemetery.
