Edna M. Quigley, 78, of Springfield died Sunday at St. John's Hospital. She was born March 3, 1919, in Springfield, the daughter of Joseph and Celia Groesch Scherf. She married Joseph W. Quigley in 1938; he died in 1995.
Mrs. Quigley was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She was employed by the Illinois secretary of state as a clerk typist, retiring in 1993 after 25 years of service. She also was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors: two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Margaret) Scott of Lakeland, Fla., and Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Wells of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: Mass, Blessed Sacrament Church, the Rev. John C. Burnett officiating. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
