Rockton - Mrs. Opal Eck, 420 Grove st., who came here two months ago, died Sunday morning in her home.
Mrs. Eck, the former Opal Schwartz, was born March 27, 1912, in Rockton, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Schwartz. Her husband, Arthur Nils Eck, died in 1954.
She was an executive secretary for the Schlage Lock Co. in California, and recently lived in San Mateo. She also was a member and a past president of a California local group of the National Secretaries association.
Survivors are three sons, Thomas of Cincinnati, Richard of Harbor City, Calif., and Terrance of Rockton; her mother, Mrs. John Schwartz in Rockton; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Redlick and Mrs. Henrietta Lass of Beloit; three brothers, George Zinnecker, Beloit, Louis Zinnecker, Cincinnati, and William Zinnecker of Rockton.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer central chapel, Beloit, with the Rev. Rankin Shrewsbury officiating. Friends may call this evening at the chapel. Burial service will be conducted at Rose Hills Memorial park, Whittier, Calif.
