Anne L. Scott, 88, of Grand Island died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Tiffany Square.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial of her cremains will be held at the Fairmount Cemetery in Denver. Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Scott was born Aug. 12, 1914, at Superior, Wyo., to August and Anna (Kensche) Piethe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon C. Scott, in 1990.

Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Ronald W. and Marilyn Scott of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a daughter, Midge Goldsmith of
Grand Island.


She attended school in Rock Springs, Wyo. Anna married Weldon C. Scott on Feb. 14, 1934 at Rock Springs, Wyo.

Mrs. Scott worked for 17 years at the Bureau of Reclamation in Denver. Anna and her husband later made their home at Windsor Gardens in the Denver area for 26 years. They enjoyed 56 years together before Mr. Scott died in 1990. Mrs. Scott moved to Grand Island five years ago to be closer to her daughter due to health reasons.

Mrs. Scott was a member of the Windsor Gardens Church, Optimist Club, NARFE, and active in the Windsor Garden's Golf Club. She enjoyed playing Bridge. Mr. and Mrs. Scott were avid travelers both in the U.S. and abroad.

Memorials are suggested to the Optimist Club, the Leukemia Foundation or the donor's choice.
