IUKA – Lois Barnes, 78, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2006, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a homemaker who enjoyed playing the piano and reading her Bible. She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church.
Services will be at 5 p.m. today at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Bro. Ron Norvell officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Moriah Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one son, James Lowell Barnes (Sandra) of Iuka; one daughter, Rebecca LaFavor (Eddie) of Corinth; two brothers, Harold Scruggs and Gerald Scruggs, both of Iuka; three sisters, Irene Scruggs, Beatrice Scruggs and Dorothy Jourdan, all of Iuka; two grandchildren, Josh Barnes and Emily Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, G.C. and Minnie Scruggs; and two sisters, Thelma Yarbrough and Lula Mae Bishop.
Pallbearers will be Tim Scruggs, Sam Hampton, Eddy Honeycutt, Donnie Yarbrough, Greg McGee and Marty Rutherford.
