Chandra Shanice Brown Scruggs, known as "Necey," 37, of 186 Mountain View Road, Gaffney, answered the Master's call on Friday, May 30, 2014, at Spartanburg Region Healthcare System.

Daughter of Mary Brown of Gaffney and Herman Brown of Saint Petersburg, Fla., she was born on Nov. 20, 1975, in Paterson, N.J.

At an early age she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and joined Mount Sinai Pentecostal Church in Bronx, N.Y. She was a 1993 graduate of Gaffney High School. Mrs. Scruggs attended Limestone College, where she was a member of SIFE and was an honor student. She was last employed as a tutor at Limestone College.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by three sons, Senior Airman Najee Watkins stationed at Hurlburt Field, Fla., Stephon Jefferies and Zion Scruggs, both of Gaffney; three daughters, Elina Jefferies, Ny'gia Camp and Ayala Thompson, all of Gaffney; five sisters, Tawana Brown of Gaffney, Cherina Brown of Spartanburg, Raquel Brown of Cowpens, Shawna Brown and Sheena Brown, both of Spartanburg; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family is receiving friends at the residence.
