Edwina "Eddie" Rooks, age 69 passed away Friday March 5, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Tallahassee, Florida she had been a resident of the Ocala area since 1973 moving here from Daytona Beach. She was a loving Christian Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and was a member of South West Christian Church, Ocala where she participated in the Christian Women's Fellowship of South West.
She was an Insurance Agent for over 20 years, and became a Co-Owner Combined Insurance Services in 1986 and retired in 1992.
She was an avid gardener and she also enjoyed traveling the United States and Europe with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 50 years Pete. 3 Daughters: Kelly (Tim) Hadsock, Stacey (Barry) Gibson, and Wendy Rooks all of Ocala. 3 Brothers: Johnny Scruggs of Quincy, Florida; Bunky Scruggs of St. Petersburg, Florida; and Haines Scruggs of Tallahassee, Florida; 2 Sisters: Ann Coxetter and Sara Weber both of Monticello, Florida; 7 Grandchildren: Brandy, Ali, Savana, Chaz, Luke, Big, and Jetti; 6 Great-Grandchildren: Rayne, Judge, Emma, Lily, Doc, and Sadie;
There will be a "Celebration of Eddie's Life" on Tuesday March 9, 2010 at 11:00 A. M. at the South West Christian Church Southwest Christian Church 9045 SW 60th Ave, Ocala, FL 34476. The Rev. Anthony Smith will serve as Officiant.
