Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Clayton Eugene Scruggs and Gaynell Davidson Scruggs and the husband of Janice Kaye Wilson Blake.
He was a former tuck driver for Ray Walker Trucking and a member of Brooklyn Baptist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Michelle Blake of the home and Darlene Blake of Chesnee; three brothers, Steve Scruggs of Chesnee, David Scruggs and wife, Fran of Chesnee and Terry Scruggs and wife, Jackie of Gaffney; two sisters, Sandra Wolff and husband, Bo of Chesnee and Tammy Pruitt and husband, Eddie of Inman; two grandchildren, Nikki Howard of Chesnee and Kyle Howard of Landrum; special nieces nephews; great nieces and nephews; and a lot of "little angels", "Papa Bobby's Angels".
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 Blakely Funeral Home & Crematory, Gaffney, S.C.
