Mary "Madeline" Beck-Pratt, 92, formerly of Arkansas City, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, in Snohomish, Wash. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday. Madeline was born Feb. 21, 1917, in Ardmore, Ala., the daughter of Claude and Addie Inez (Allen) Scruggs. She came to the Arkansas City area as a young child, attending schools in Silverdale. She married Ed Beck on Aug. 9, 1948, in Ponca City. The couple made their home in Arkansas City until 1968, when they moved to Washington. She returned to Arkansas City after his death in 1973. She later married Harley Pratt. After his death, she returned to Washington, where she ultimately resided in Snohomish. She had attended the Church of God and the First Southern Baptist Church in Arkansas City, and attended the Northshore Christian Church with her daughter in Washington. Survivors include a son, Bob Allen, of Arkansas City; two daughters, Sandy Musson, of Richland, Wash., and Connie Beck, of Snohomish, Wash.; two sisters, Sally Walker, of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Helen McAllney, of Aurora, Colo.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a son, Duane Allen; a brother, Willard Scruggs; three sisters, including her twin, Kathleen Hockenbury, Louise Chapman and Rita Mae Waldeck; a grandson, Blake Musson; and a granddaughter, Teresa Blenden.
