d/o Wm. Frank SENNETT & Sarah E. BAKER
First wife of Charles V. EMERSON
On some documents, her name is spelled Maud (no "e" at the end). Maude Sennett Emerson died at the age of 33, days after giving birth to a child that had died days earlier. Cause of Maud's death was listed as "septicemia" which is a bloodstream infection. According to the family, it was the result of the doctor not washing his hands for what was apparently a difficult birth event. It was a common enough problem, sometimes referred to as "birthfever." Maude was the first of Charles V Emerson's three wives. In addition to this unnamed baby, they had 4 children: Mary, John, Lucy Jean (Lang) and Dorothy Ester (Doggett).
