Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Funeral Home for Bonnie L. Blanton, 71, Topeka, who died Friday, April 21, 2000, at a Topeka care center. Cremation will follow.

She was born Oct. 21, 1928, in Perry in Jefferson County, to Bert and Bessie Blevins Sharkey. She attended Topeka High School. She was office manager for Blanton Electric and K.L. Enterprises and later worked for 10 years in customer service for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.

She was a member of Northland Christian Church, Rebekah Lodge, the auxiliary to North Post No. 400 of the American Legion and Parents Without Partners.

She married Donald E. Blanton. They divorced. A son, Kirk Blanton, died Feb. 11, 1995.

Survivors include a son, Ronald E. Blanton, Topeka; a daughter, Cheryl Pottorf, Topeka; seven grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Inurnment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
