Sis. Annie “Sharkey” Armstrong was born on October 11, 1902, in Jasper, County, Texas to Sandy and Caroline McDaniel. She attended public school at Grant Elementary in Jasper, Texas. She attended Armstrong Memorial C.M.E. Church until her health failed.

She met and later married Mr. Paul Vox Armstrong. To that union fourteen children were born, four boys and ten girls. Her husband and four boys departed life at an early age. One daughter, Mrs. Morine Logan, also preceded her in death.

She departed this life on Tuesday, April 9, 1996, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

Sis. Annie Armstrong leaves to cherish her memory nine daughters: Ms Pauline Armstrong, Mrs. Hazel Armstrong (Calvin), Mrs. Mary Beaty, all of Jasper, Texas; Mrs. Gloria Armstrong Kyle, Mrs. Vivian Mitchell (J.W.), Mrs. Annie Pearl Carter (Rev. L.L Carter), all of Beaumont, Texas; Mrs. Eddie Bell Davis of Dallas, Texas; Mrs. Florine Hunter (Rev. B.J. Hunter) of Texas City, Texas; and Mrs. Emma Lee Kyles of Houston, Texas; three sisters: Mrs. Maggie Russell and Mrs. Roberta Limbrick, both of Jasper, Texas, and Mrs. Lula Jean Bean of Beaumont, Texas; one brother, Mr. Sandy Junior McDaniel of Jasper, Texas; thirty-five grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
