CLAYBURG, NY: Marion L. Collins, 85, of Silver Lake Road, died peacefully, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the CVPH Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born in Clayburg on June 28, 1927 the daughter of Wilmer J. and Louise M. (LaFountain) Sharkey. Marion was a communicant of Church of the Assumption in Redford. She loved baking, crocheting, bingo, playing cards and having her friends and neighbors stop by for coffee and a visit. Marion had formerly worked at the Lake Placid Club in Lake Placid, NY. Survivors include her husband, Gordon B. Collins; one brother, Harold Sharkey and his wife, Joan of Independence, MO, one sister, Lillian Hamel-Rizzie and her husband, Carlton of Plattsburgh; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion, her dog, Sidney. She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Magoon and three brothers, Wilmer "Bill" Sharkey, Bernard "Clayton" Sharkey and Francis Sharkey. Calling hours will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at Church of the Assumption in Redford. Burial will be at a later date in Independence Cemetery in Saranac. Memorial donations may be made to the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center. Arrangements are in the care of the R. W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court St. Plattsburgh, NY.
