Chrystal Shelby, 34, of Boise, ID lost her battle from a life long struggle with rheumatoid arthritis May 8, 2014. Chrystal was born November 11, 1979 in Nampa, ID to Butch Shelby and Margaret Laleff. Chrystal graduated from Nampa High School in 1997. Mother of two boys, Dominic and Kolby, she enjoyed watching them grow and mature with her fiancé Darrell Cowles.

Chrystal loved spending time with family, be it at the Oregon coast or in her mothers' hair salon playing with hair and makeup. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the YABA. She also loved traveling, especially with Leo in the semi around the U.S. Some of her other loves was shopping with her aunt Linda, spending quality time with her nieces and bringing joy to others. Her greatest love was spending time with her boys.

Chrystal had a great love of her family and demonstrated that with her meticulous care of her Nana during her difficult battle with Alzheimers. The most influential people in her life were her Grandfather "Papa", her brother "Jo Jo" and her "grandma" Flora who was a life teacher in so many ways. Most of all; her best friend, confidant, adviser, inspiration and ally: Her Mother!

Chrystal shared a great love for Darrell and his family.

Her family would like to give heart felt thanks to Darrell and his family, especially his mother Cheryl.

She is survived by her sons Dominic and Kolby Smittle and her fiancé Darrell Cowles. Mother, Margaret (Leo) Laleff; Father, Butch (Shelly) Shelby; Brother, Joe (Laura) Shelby; Step sister, Tonya (Scott) Susi with their children, Mark and Marie; Aunt, Linda Brewer; Uncle, Don Baker; Nieces (Joes' daughters): Brittany, Bryce, and Bailey (To her nieces she was not just an aunt, she was their Nanu); Cousin, Troy Kurtz with his children, Claudia and Jonas.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Claude and Willie Mae Baker and Bill and Ethel Shelby

A celebration of her life will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A luncheon will follow at the Nampa Elks Lodge.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Fairfax Road at Virginia St., Salt Lake City, UT 84103 She was always proud to be one of the Shriners kids even doing a commercial for them when she was about 12 years old.
