Cathy was the daughter of Gene Childers and Evelyn Ann Wehmeier. She married James B. Shelby, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her friend and soulmate, Jimmy Carrington; her children, Tim (Jackie) Shelby, Laura Ballew and Scott (Samantha) Ballew; six grandchildren, Steven Acevedo, Dustin Acevedo, Benjamin Shelby, Katelyn Ballew, A.J. Acevedo and Rhiannon Shelby; three brothers; five sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Cathy worked at Garden Street Coffee Shop in Peoria for 20 years. She was most recently a homemaker.
