Calvin Cooledge Shelby, 83, of Branch died Saturday, April 18, 2009, in Paris. He was born June 3, 1925, in Paris. He was a retired farmer and a World War II Army veteran.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Smith Mortuary Chapel in Charleston. The body was cremated.
He is survived by a daughter, Janis Shelby of Charleston; three sons, Ron and Bill Shelby, both of Charleston, and Jerry Shelby of Branch; a stepson, Demus Shaw of Charleston; a sister, Ina Green of Niles, Mich.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
