Mrs. Opal E. Allison, daughter of Clay and Mary Voshall Shelby was born near Pleasant Hill, Ill., March 9, 1898 and passed away July 16, 1953 at Illini Hospital. She is survived by her husband E. E. Allison, a brother, Clyde Shelby and a sister, Mrs. Ida Weaver, all of Nebo, two step daughters Ercel Shive of Peoria, Mossaline Zumwalt and a step-son Wayne Allison of Delafield, Wisc. Services were held at the Christian Church at 1:30 pm on Saturday July 18, and burial was in Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Mrs. Allison was a lifelong member of the Nebo Baptist church and was a faithful worker and attendant. The services were conducted by the Rev. Anderson, Baptist minister of Roodhouse, assisted by Joe Maynard of Pittsfield. Songs were sung by the Boren family. Pall bearers were: Wayne Harpole, Harry Craig, Floyd Ewers, Jimmie Greenstreet, Jim Smith and Jack Barton.
