Virginia Lee Beatty of Ooltewah, died Friday, December 10, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 70. Mrs. Beatty was born in Concord, North Carolina, and had lived most of her life in the Chattanooga area. She attended Harmony Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Hermond Antle; her mother Nellie Shelby; two sons, Danny Beatty and Terry Henson; and a great-grandson. Survivors include a son, Ronnie Antle, Ooltewah; Daughter, Darlene Hicks, Sweetwater, Tennessee; two sisters, Josephine Weaver, Chattanooga and Tina Potts, Leesburg, South Carolina; brother, Charles Shelby, San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Russell and the Rev. Ricky Kesley officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
