Donald W Sheldon, 58, of Galesburg Route 3, died unexpectedly at 4:38 AM today at Cottage Hospital. He had been a painting contractor for 18 years.
Mr. Sheldon was born in Galesburg June 20, 1904, and attended schools here. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church.
He was married at Muscatine, Iowa, March 28, 1938, to Mildred Carr, who survives with a son, Donald H of Galesburg; a daughter, Mrs. Aaron Johnson of Galesburg; three half-brothers, Edward Allen of Cameron, Robert Allen of Galesburg and Ardell Allen of Abingdon; a half-sister, Mrs. Dorothy Nelson of Lynn Center, and four grandchildren. A brother, sister and grandchild preceded him in death.
Funeral will be Thursday at 2PM at Hinchliff and Pearson Funeral Chapel, where friends may call Wednesday evening. Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Boon Carr, August Gatt, Hubert Bradburn, Sam Bybee, Ed Fox and Wilbur Sargeant.
