Born June 21, 1920, in Dahinda to Samuel B. and Daisy May Little Davis, she married Garl H. Rigg on Dec. 31, 1935, in Galesburg. She later married Lawrence W. Sheldon on Jan. 22, 1967, in Los Angeles. He died on June 2, 2002.
She was also preceded in death by five sons, one sister and one brother.
Surviving are four sons, Larry (and Nancy) Rigg of Galesburg, Herbert (and Kathy) Rigg of San Jose, Calif., John (and Robbie) Sheldon and Richard Sheldon, both of Los Angeles; five daughters, Viona Sheldon of Aurora Grande, Calif., Tanya Sheldon of Virginia Beach, Va., Beatrice Shackelford of Texas, Mabel Donahue of Virgin, Utah, and Marjorie Elliott of Galesburg; two brothers, Harley Davis of Galesburg and Marion Davis of Missouri; one sister, Nina Miles of Galesburg; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker, living in Galesburg all her life.
She was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was of the Methodist faith.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with visitation an hour earlier. The Rev. Kevin Treptow will officiate. Burial will be at the Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville.
