Born September 10, 1926 in Corsicana, Texas to Ruth Pearl Roach and Claude Levi Willie Sheppard, she was a resident of the Mid-County area since 1959.

Claudine served as historian for the Nederland Independent School District / PTA during the late 1960's and early 1970's which sparked a passion for genealogy and the preservation of historical articles and records. The volumes of our family's history that line the shelves of her home office are proof of her strong attention to detail and fact-finding skills. Claudine was a Sunday school teacher, floral designer, seamstress, and avid crafter. She was a very loving and giving woman and would have been married for sixty-eight years this December 25.

Claudine is survived by her husband, Calvin Leon Burton; daughters, Ruth Raedine Wood and Beverly Joyce Parr; a son, James Leon Burton; six grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Interment will be at Memory Gardens of Jefferson
