Vena passed away to her heavenly home on January 16, 2016. Vena was born July 22, 1927 in Sapulpa, OK. Vena was the youngest of five children born to Albert and Myrtle Sherman.
She came to California in the early 1950's living first in Bishop. The family moved to Porterville in 1958. She was a devoted homemaker. Vena enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren when they were small. They were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elmo (Skee) Burton in 1989 and a daughter Linda Marshall in 2013.
Surviving her are her two sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The family appreciates the care given Vena by Dr. Buttan and the staff at Porterville Convalescent Hospital.
Services will be graveside at Hillcrest Cemetery Thursday, January 21 at 10 a.m.
