"Marjorie Mary Engesser, age 84, of Santa Paula, died April 14, 1998, at home. Mrs. Engesser was born April 21, 1913, in Bancroft, Iowa. She attended St. Catherine's College in St. Paul, Minn., and spent her early teaching years in a one-room school house in Seneca and in Bancroft. She was then appointed postmistress in Bancroft and held that post until she married Leo Engesser in 1941. They spent the next 20 years on their farm in the Armstrong area. In 1960, they moved to California with their seven children and settled in Carpinteria. She is survived by her seven children, Margaret Graham of La Canada, Mary Engesser of Santa Paula, Edward Engesser of Huntington Beach, Marcia Hawley of Camarillo, Sara Kale of Lake Oswego, Ore., John Engesser of Ventura and Brenda Engesser of Moorpark and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two children...."
