GANT,FAY (SIMS). Born in Dallas on July 27, 1927 and passed away on December 19, 2004. Fay is preceded in death by her parents Richard Watkins Sims and Ona Roberta (Stanford) Sims. Also preceded in death by son, Fred Marshall Gant, Jr., baby daughter, Donna Fay Gant, and infant daughter, Brenda Gay Gant. Fay graduated from Wilmer Hutchins High School in 1944 where she was a cheerleader, majorette, and Salutatorian of her class. Fay was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Oak Cliff. She was loved by all that knew her and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Fred Marshall Gant; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi Lea (Gant) Carter, and J. Braxton Carter, II; grandchildren, J. Braxton, III, and Clayton Marshall Carter; brother and sister-in-law, Richard Milton Sims and Ethlyn Sims and much loved nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, December 23, 2004 at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be open on Wednesday. Dallas Laurel Land 214-371-1336
