Memorial services for Eleanor Mae Sjogren Burnison, 94, Lindsborg, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Elim Lutheran Church in Marquette. Private graveside services will be in Marquette Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Burnison died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008.

She was born Oct. 24, 1913, in Marquette, the daughter of Clarence and Carrie Uhler Sjogren. She was a longtime resident of Marquette and moved to Lindsborg in 2006.
Mrs. Burnison was a retired schoolteacher and farmer. She was a member of Elim Lutheran Church, the church council, Smoky Valley Historical Association, Starlite Literary Club, Marquette Library Board, McPherson County Retired School Personnel and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Sunday school teacher and 4-H sewing leader.

She married Richard M. Burnison on March 27, 1937, in Alva, Okla. He died May 15, 1976.

Mrs. Burnison was also preceded in death by a daughter, Iretta Kundert.

Survivors include three daughters, Monette Johnson, Assaria, L'Jean Swisher, Lindsborg, and Dicksie Lloyd, Lawrence; two sisters, Sarah Jane Smith, Marquette, and Lenoir Ekdahl, Lawrence; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
