Early Life: Anna was born November 22, 1933, in Sturgis, Kentucky, to Albert Helfin and Alma Beatrice Coker Dupree. She also grew up in Stugis.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: On February 8, 1951, Anna married Maurice C. Smith in Morganfield, Kentucky. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Hawaii LDS Temple. Following her marriage, she lived in many places throughout the world during Maurice's military career. After his retirement, they made their home in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She worked at Brigham Young University for several years in Food Services and made many life-long friends. Anna was a devoted member of the LDS Church; along with Maurice, she served a service mission in the LDS Employment Center. She loved her time serving as a worker in the Mt. Timpanogos Utah LDS Temple. Anna enjoyed her association, involvement and travel with her many kind and loving friends. In her last years, she cherished the time spent supporting her children and grandchildren through the many activities and events in their lives. Anna Louise Dupree Smith, of Pleasant Grove, Utah, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2014, after an unexpected illness. she was 80 years old.
Survived By: Her four children: Jayne (Jim) Prentice, Haleiwa, HI; Glenna (Bob) Schartmann, Draper; Jeffery Smith, Provo; Gayle (Paul) Olpin, Pleasant Grove; daughter-in-law, Cathy Jo Smith, Sturgis, KY; 10 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and brother, Ellis (Billie) Dupree, Topeka, KS.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, Maurice; son, Maurice Jr; infant daughter, Maurica Ann; and brothers: Harry and Billy.
