She was predeceased in death by her husband and the father of her children, Gay Charles Smith, Sr., and by her second husband, Luther Milton Burroughs. Goodnough; two sons, Charles Gay Smith, Jr. and Robert Vernon Smith; two sisters, Lois G. Grubbs and Lillian Greer; three brothers, Wayne, James, and Sam Greer.
