She was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Duluth to Margaret and Peter Smith. She was raised in Duluth and graduated from Central High School.
Margaret was united in marriage to Walter R. Skendziel Aug. 9, 1947. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a loyal friend to all who knew her. Her pain has ended and she has joined the love of her life, Walter, in heaven.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Judy Woida; son, Michael (Patti); grandchildren: Sean (Miyuki) Hamlin , Megan Harrison, Air Force Lt. Col. Patrich (Tara) Skendziel, and Sgt. Christopher (Kristin) Skendziel; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 61 years, Walter; sisters, Mary Morris and Nell Peterson; brothers, James and Everett Smith; and infant grandson, Michael J. Skendziel.
Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
