She graduated from high school in 1948. After high school she worked various jobs, including manufacturing and clerical work. On July 22, 1955 Anna married Charles Grafton in St. Mary's, PA. In 1962 they moved to Cloquet. In 1963 she became a mother and devoted all of her time to being a wife to Charles and a mother to her children.
Throughout her life, Anna enjoyed camping with the family, bowling with the ladies, and doting on her grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening, baking, working crossword puzzles, mentoring and raising her children. She was soft spoken, gentle in spirit, and feisty to the core.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.
Anna is survived by her husband, Charles; children: Dan (Robin) Grafton and Julie Love; grandchildren: Jennah Grafton and Reed Grafton; brothers: Arthur (Lil) Smith and James "Bud" (Berdine) Smith; sister, Shirley Uphold; and many nieces and nephews.
Inurnment in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
