Eliza, my great great grandmother, was the daughter of Dr. John Smith (1794-1869) and Hanna Cronin (1795-1889) Dr. John Smith's father was also a doctor during the Revolutionary War
Eliza married William AG Arthur* (1822-1898) on Dec. 6, 1843 They had six children: Francis John (1846-1920), Mary E (1847-1850), Robert W (1849-1906), Smith J (1852-1959), Pell Claugh* (1856-1917) and Mary A (1859-1922).
Eliza lived to the ripe old age of ninety in the Arthur family homestead on Street Road, Ticonderoga among children and many many grandchildren. Edward Arthur, (1904-1982) my great uncle and one of Eliza's grandchildren remembered her as the typical little old lady sitting in her rocking chair and wearing her lace bonnet which was often worn at the time. He was nine years old when she died.
