Mrs. Anna M Smith
native Islander
Mrs. Anna M Smith of 54 Webster St. Malverne, LI, a native of Staten Island, died yesterday in the Clove Lakes Nursing Home. She was 92.
Born in Pleasant Plains, Mrs. Smith was a Princes Bay summer resident for 50 years while living in Manhattan. She returned to the Island in 1948, living in Port Richmond for 10 years until the death of her husband, Henry J Smith, Sr., a linotype operator. She then moved to Malverne.
Mrs. Smith was a descendant of the VanWyck family, after whom a street in Princes Bay is named.
Surviving are two sons, Henry J of White Plains and William M of the home address; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be tomorrow from the McCallum-Rice Funeral Home with a mass at 10 am in Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Rossville.
