Mrs. Carl M. Baker Dies Suddenly At Home Here!
Mrs. Lila Cornella Baker, wife of Carl M. Baker died suddenly at 9 o'clock last night at the residence, corner Main Street and West Stone avenue. Mrs. Baker has been in falling health for the past three years, but her death comes as shock to her family and friends, who had hoped for her recovery. She is survived by her husband and two small daughters and her three sisters, Mrs. T. L. Rogers, Mrs. J. B. Howell and Mrs. Nannie Raines, and one brother, Walter Smith all of Greenville. Mrs. Baker was consistent member of the Hampton Avenue Methodist church. Funeral services will be held at the Hampton Avenue Methodist church at 5 o'clock this afternoon. The pastor, Rev. H. O. Chambers, with officate and the following gentlemen are asked to meet at the residence at 4:30 to serve as
active pallbearers: C. C. Bruce, J. M. Ballenger, J. F. Graves, J. A. Russell, B. B. Smith and H. E. Stewart. Interment will be made in the family plot in Springwood Cemetery.
