Mrs. Abercrombie was born Sept. 3, 1921, in Clinton, S.C., to the late William C. and Doshie Harley Smith. She was educated in the Clinton, S.C., Schools.
She retired from Woodside Mills, Simpsonville, after 35 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Abercrombie was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin J. Abercrombie, who died Nov. 10, 1994, and three children, Walter C. Abercrombie, James Richard Abercrombie, Barry Steven Abercrombie.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Anthony J. Abercrombie of Florida and Phillip Keith Abercrombie of Russia, and a very special close friend, Mrs. Bobbie Patton. Eleven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Cannon Funerals & Cremations of Fountain Inn by the Rev. J.B. Abercrombie. Burial will follow in Cannon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The family will be at their respective residences. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
