Mrs. Lillie Mae Smith Hooks, 96 of Adrian, died Thursday afternoon at Scott Health and Rehab in Adrian, Ga.
Mrs. Hooks was born in Emanuel County, was a member of the Swainsboro Primitive Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was a past member of 231 Eastern Star where she was a Worthy Matron. She was th e first woman elected into the Womens Society of the Farm Bureau. Mrs. Hooks attended South Georgia Teachers College in Statesboro and was a nurse at the U. S. Army General Hospital at Fort Knox durin g WWII.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Pullen, Milo Walden, and John Hooks; her parents, Angus and Lula Smith; her brothers, Charlie, Clifton and Leon Smith; and a sister, Artie Lou Foskey Irvin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Primitive Baptist Church, 242 West Main St., Swainsboro, Ga 30401 or Mt. Zion Church Cemetery, in care of Melvie Stephens of Adrian, Ga 31002.
Funeral services were 3:00 p.m. Sunday at United Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Gary Johnson and Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
Tomlinson Funeral Home of Swainsboro had charge of the arrangements.
