Mrs. Bailey was a graduate of Georgia Southern and Berry College and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was an English teacher at Swainsboro High School for 37 years and had been named Emanuel County Teacher of the Year. She was a member of UDC, DAR, Retired Teachers Association, and The Summertown Homemakers Club. She also taught the adult Sunday school class at Summertown Baptist Church where she had been a member for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wallace Coleman Bailey.
Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Bailey Evans of Summertown; one grandson and several nieces, nephews and relatives. Tomlinson Funeral Home of Swainsboro had charge of arrangements.
