Funeral services were conducted at Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, April 4, for Mrs. A. N. Rush, 102, one of Northwest Iowa's oldest residents, who died Sunday at the Hawarden nursing home.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Herbert Gould and burial was in Grace Hill cemetery at Hawarden.

Mrs. Rush, the former Cordie Smith, was born November 22, 1869, in Lock Haven, PA. She and her family moved to Hand county South Dakota when she was 16.

She married A. N. Rush, November 10, 1889 in Hand County. After farming there for a few years, they moved to Hawarden in the early 1890's where Mr. Rush entered the dray business. He later was a Standard Oil tank wagon agent in the horse and buggy days. Mr. Rush retired in 1922 after a heart attack and died Christmas Day, 1924.

Her husband was active in the Odd Fellows and she was a charter member of Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include a son, W.C., of Harwarden; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Barnes, of Brentood Calif.; two brothers, Porter of Hudson and Harold of Hawarden; six grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rush was the oldest of her parents' 11 children.
