GALESBURG - Maxine L. Miller, 87, of Elk Grove Village, formerly of Galesburg, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, in Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village.

Born Nov. 26, 1915, in Lomax to Frederick L. and Mary Effenbeck Smith, she married Theodore J. Miller on March 20, 1934, in Galesburg. He died July 3, 1969.

She also was preceded in death by three sons, Donald, James and Michael.

Surviving are one daughter, Patricia (and Robert) Truesdell of Elburn; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was an assembler at a factory in Bensenville for 27 years, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Bensenville.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hinchliff-PearsonWest Galesburg Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery.
