Mrs. Alice Smith Ostrander, 72, of 1739 Boulevard died Saturday in her home after a long illness. She was the widow of the late Charles V. Ostrander, who died Jan. 15, 1954.
Born in Brooklyn, Mrs. Ostrander had lived in Westfield 36 years. She formerly resided in Embree crescent. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and Atlas Chapter, Eastern Star.
Surviving are two sons, John L. Ostrander of Westfield, and Stanley Ostrander of King Street, Fanwood; and a daughter, Mrs. Harold Messersmith, of the Boulevard address, with whom she made her home; four grandchildren; and a brother, Stanley Smith of Brooklyn.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in Gray's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frederick W. Blatz, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
