ADAMS, ANN SNEED - age 82, of Knoxville, passed away at home on July 8, 2014, with her husband of sixty one years, W.C. (Billy) Adams, and children by her side.

Born September 11, 1931, to William Bush Sneed and Annette Anderson Sneed of Nashville, she graduated from Hillsboro High School in Nashville and attended the University of Mississippi prior to earning a master's degree in education from Peabody College in Nashville.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she was a southern beauty who honored and passed along to her grand children her love of southern culture and of family. As a teacher she exhibited a passion for education.

She was an avid reader, community volunteer, and animal lover, and loved to walk and hike in the mountains. She was also blessed with special skills as homemaker, hostess, bridge player, and needle pointer.

She will be dearly missed by her husband and other survivors including son, Bill Jr. (Allison) of Nashville; daughter, Annette Bradley (Doug) of Lynchburg, VA; and grandchildren, Will Gordon, Robert Gordon, Caroline Adams, Camille Adams, and Nate Adams.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, in Knoxville, and from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Marshall Donnelly Combs Funeral Home, in Nashville. Private interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of the Smokies, (www.friendsofthesmokies.org), the East Tennessee Public Broadcasting System (www.easttennesseepbs.org), or Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley (www.humane society tennessee.com).
