She was born November 10, 1924, in Lincoln County a daughter of the Late Thomas Luther and Matilda Jane Reynolds Sneed. Mary Helen was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and she was retired from Bradington Young.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Abernathy brothers and sisters, Caldwell Sneed, Vera Reynolds, William Sneed, Lila Mae Hayes, Corene Sneed and Louise Sneed.
Funeral services will be held Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Burial in church cemetery.
