PROTHRO, Cornell born January 8, 1940, in Katula, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2006, in Quartz Hill, California. Cornell was a loving wife to husband Clarence "Corky" Prothro for 48 years and a devoted mother and grandmother. For 30 years she partnered with her husband "Corky" as the bookkeeper at Corky's Auto Repair in Quartz Hill. Cornell was beautiful in every way, as well as adventurous ... and happily participated in all her family's activities, including showing her signature pink antique classic pick-up truck at many car shows, winning many trophies along the way. Family always came first for Cornell. She loved traveling and took many trips, many on the back of her husband's Harley Davidson, to the high Sierras. In the last 15 years, Cornell rode together with her husband for over 100,000 miles. She never needed a reason to go on the next adventure, all she had to be was asked. Friends and family also will remember her as a great cook and baker, and always a fun, generous and loyal friend. Cornell is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Clarence "Corky" Prothro, her children, Anita Davis, Michael Prothro, Carol Timms and Laura Prothro, as well as eleven grandchildren, Rochelle, Crystal, Chris, Michelle, Melissa, Kelly, Cindy, Stacey, Brandy, Scott, Danielle and Stephanie. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Joshua Memorial Park & Mortuary, Lancaster.
